28th International Tourist Guide Day 2017 in Vienna on February 17th and Frebruary 19th, 2017
On February 21st, 1985 the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) was founded in Vienna. Four years later, the congress of the WFTGA decided to implement an annual „International Tourist Guide Day“ which is always supposed to be held around the founding date.
Since then, the Viennese Tourist Guides celebrated this day with various activities. This year again, we would like to draw your attention to two of the many attractions of the city of Vienna: the Austrian National Library (ÖNB) and the Kunsthistorisches Museum (KHM). With free guided tours and lectures we would like to demonstrate our profound knowledge and our professionalism.
As in recent years, the International Tourist Guide Day 2017 will be held on two days:
February 17th: Free >> tours for blind and visually impaired people, from 1.00 until 5.00 p.m. in the KHM
February 19th: Free >> tours and >> lectures (in German) from 10.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m. in the Austrian National Library
Tours and lectures as well as the entrance to both museums are free of charge for our visitors!
